Incorporating a healthy keto diet into a busy young life

Keto-remix recipes

When starting on a keto or low-carb diet it can be tricky to come up with new recipes everyday. After a few weeks on keto I kinda ran out of ideas on what recipes to make, and ofcourse there are many weekly programs and planners but sometimes I just crave some old recipes I loved before going on keto, like pasta pesto, so easy and ridiculously delicious. So what worked for me is to sometimes just mix up these old recipes and make them into keto-proof dishes. Knowing they are healthier and filled with keto-proof ingredients makes it so much better than the original and without the guilt feeling of loads of carbs! Here are some mix-ups I love, and some which I still need to try out:

Pasta Pesto Keto-proof (2 persons)

– 150 grams zucchini zoodles
– 200 grams chicken
– 1 onion
– 1/2 cup cream
– 1/2 cherry tomatoes
– Pepper & salt
– 1 tbsp olive oil
– 2 cups of arugula
– 2 tbsp of pesto
Cut up the onion in little pieces and heat with the olive oil in a pan. Add the pieces of chicken and stir for 5 minutes. Add the pesto and cream and salt & pepper to your liking. Stir and let it simmer for another 2 minutes, then throw in the cherry tomatoes and the zucchini zoodles. Let the zucchini zoodles soften just a bit and fill up your plate with the arugula leaves. Top with your pasta and enjoy!

THIS delicious curry-recipe
Curry is my go to comfort-food when it comes to keto, just replace the rice with cauliflower rice or lettuce and enjoy while staying very low in carbs, check out THIS recipe and you’ll get why it is the ultimate comfort food!

OR THIS amazing Taco-bowl recipe
Why should taco’s be even in a shell? No need with this amazing keto-version of taco’s! I really enjoyed making it and topping it with my favourite taco toppings like:
– Quacamole (Hello healthy keto fats!)
– Cream (Even more fatty goods)
– Diced onions

This mouth-watering Big Mac-salad which just tastes like the real deal!
I still very much enjoy my burgers without buns every now and then at fastfood chains, and eventhough they aren’t the healthiest of choises, they do fit into my macro’s. But the even better and healthier alternative is making it yourself and getting the same taste just right! How awesome is is then to make something as good as a Big Mac salad?! You have to try this one!

And finally for your cravings, a shawarma-salad, because you deserve it
Sometimes you just crave a fatty snack of dinner and to make it yourself even more easy the recipe is very simple and great for after a long day of work or going to the gym. I reccommend making the sauces yourself but there are also some great sugarfree alternatives for sure!
